Scientific name: Giraffa camelopardalis reticulata

Location: Africa

Size: up to 5 metres tall

Life Span: up to 25 years

Current Status: they are still common however poaching is a problem

Habitat: Open woodland and wooded grassland

Fast facts:

  • eats leaves, flowers, vines, herbs
  • live in scattered herds
  • colour ranges from tan to deep brown
  • main predators are lions, leopards, wild dogs, hyenas
  • able to go for weeks without water
  • they have excellent vision
  • they are able to bleat, grunt and snort
